چکیده

Abstract Driven by the search for an optimum combination of particle velocity and process temperature to achieve dense hard metal coatings at high deposition efficiencies powder feed rates, high-velocity air-fuel spraying (HVAF) was developed. In terms achievable velocities temperatures, this can be classified between oxy-fuel (HVOF) cold gas (CGS). The particular advantages HVAF regarding moderate as well productivity efficiency suggest that application should also investigated manufacture MCrAlY (M = Co and/or Ni) bond coats (BCs) in thermal barrier coating (TBC) systems. work, corresponding spray parameters were developed based on detailed analyses. Different diagnostics carried out characterize working jet particles flight. with respect their microstructure, surface roughness oxygen content. assessed its effectiveness. Process calculations flow acceleration heating applied explain governing mechanisms characteristics. results show is a promising alternative manufacturing process.

Formation and Properties of Ni-Based Amorphous Metallic Coating Produced by HVAF Thermal Spraying

A highly dense Ni59Zr20Ti16Si2Sn3 partial amorphous metallic coating, about 500mm thick, was fabricated by means of HVAF (High Velocity Air Fuel) thermal spraying. Amorphous alloy powders produced by using gas atomization were used for HVAF thermal spraying to produce an amorphous metallic coating. Microstructural investigation showed that crystallization and oxidation occurred during thermal s...

High-temperature degradation of plasma sprayed thermal barrier coating systems

Thermal barrier coating systems (TBCs) are used in gas turbines to prevent high-temperature degradation of metallic materials in the combustor and turbine. One of the main concerns regarding TBCs is poor reliability, and accurate life prediction models are necessary in order to fully utilise the beneficial effects of TBCs. This research project aims at developing deeper understanding of the deg...

Thermal Fatigue Behavior of Air-Plasma Sprayed Thermal Barrier Coating with Bond Coat Species in Cyclic Thermal Exposure

The effects of the bond coat species on the delamination or fracture behavior in thermal barrier coatings (TBCs) was investigated using the yclic thermal fatigue and thermal-shock tests. The interface microstructures of each TBC showed a good condition without cracking or delamination after flame thermal fatigue (FTF) for 1429 cycles. The TBC with the bond coat prepared by the air-plasma spray ...

Application of High-Velocity Oxygen-Fuel (HVOF) Spraying to the Fabrication of Yb-Silicate Environmental Barrier Coatings

From the literature, it is known that due to their glass formation tendency, it is not possible to deposit fully-crystalline silicate coatings when the conventional atmospheric plasma spraying (APS) process is employed. In APS, rapid quenching of the sprayed material on the substrate facilitates the amorphous deposit formation, which shrinks when exposed to heat and forms pores and/or cracks. T...
